Beer & Cheese

A love story for the ages

The best cheese comes from the best milk! In Wisconsin, we know how true this is. Starting today, Hop Haus will be offering cheese boards. And, we are proudly serving only Wisconsin cheese.

When we first sat down and started to plan what our cheese list would look like we knew some of the decisions would be hard. But we had no idea how much great cheese is made right here in our state. We have worked with the folks at the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board for past beer and cheese events and they again came through for us. They provided samples, educated our staff and had some great stories to tell about nearly all the cheese producers whose cheese we sampled.

Why beer and cheese? It comes down to pairing similar flavors. For our previous beer and cheese pairings we selected an aged Parmesan cheese with big intense flavors to go with our Plaid Panther Scotch Ale. A delicate Gouda cheese with our Sweet Sunglasses Blonde Ale. You get the idea.

The list of our initial offerings is below (and these may change);

Marieke Young Gouda [Thorp, WI]

Widmer 2 year Cheddar [Theresa, WI]

Widmer Brick Spread [Theresa, WI]

Sartori Black Pepper BellaVitano [Plymouth ,WI]

Kindred Creamery Smoked Cheddar [Muscoda ,WI]

Kindred Creamery Forage Mushroom Jack [Muscoda, WI]

Carr Valley Glacier Wild Fire Blue [LaValle ,WI]

As you can see, we are offering a wide selection of Wisconsin cheeses. We opted not to pair beer with these cheeses so that the cheese can speak for itself. Taste it, talk about it, and then pick your favorite one. You decide what beer goes with what cheese! We’re not dictators here…

We serve our cheese on beautiful custom Hop Haus boards, with a selection of nuts and pretzel rods. Hope you enjoy!
